Position: Drywall Construction Supervisor 


The company is a leading drywall contractor serving the Calgary area, known for delivering high-quality work and fostering a supportive, team-oriented culture. The company is seeking a Drywall Construction Supervisor to oversee daily site operations, coordinate crews and schedules, maintain quality control, and act as the primary liaison between the construction site and head office. 

This posting outlines a payroll employee position; however, subcontractors are also welcome to apply. Terms of engagement, compensation,and working arrangements for subcontractors will be discussed separately with qualified candidates. 

Job Location: Various client sites throughout the Calgary, AB region. Work is primarily performed on-site. Optional opportunities for out-of-town assignments may be available.

Wage:
·
$35 to $39 per hour, based on experience and performance
· Salary increases and bonuses per company policy

Benefits:
· Eligible for Health Spending Account after 90-day probationary period: Covers medical, dental and eligible health expenses
· Group overtime banking agreement in place, per Alberta Employment Standards
· Company Vehicle may be provided following successful completion of the probationary period, subject to workload, project requirements, and operational needs
· Settlement support is based on candidate location and availability. Candidates are asked to confirm any relocation or settlement expectations during the recruitment process

Employment terms and conditions:
· Regular hours – 8 hrs./day (7-3:30, M to F, including 30 min. unpaid lunch and 2 15 min. breaks)
· Optional compressed work week - 3 x 12 hrs. per day (dependent on weather and site progress)
· Occasional Evening, Night, and Weekend work required
· Overtime required  
· Personal Days: 5 (unpaid)

Education:
Completion of High School

Experience:
4 years of relevant experience, including:
· Hands-on drywall experience (e.g., layout, framing, boarding, taping, finishing, T-bar ceiling install)
· Supervision of Drywall Construction (e.g. drywall installers, tapers, lathers, etc.) 

Must demonstrate proper use of tools and adherence to on-site construction procedures during the probationary period, ensuring safe and efficient work practices.

Duties:
· Evaluate blueprints and construction schedules for daily and weekly planning        
· Perform layout of drywall systems according to construction drawings, specifications, and site conditions, ensuring accurate placement of walls, partitions, and related framing        
· Complete on-site estimating for ordering and receiving materials, equipment and supplies        
· Coordinate and supervise work activities and field crews to optimize productivity        
· Inspect all stages of work to ensure quality of craftsmanship and compliance with project specifications and standards        
· Monitor work schedules and approve employee time keeping records        
· Ensure all company, site, and client safety protocols, policies, and procedures are adhered to        
· Communicate updates to the construction management team, client representatives, and safety consultants       
· Responsible for conducting weekly toolbox meetings to review safety topics, site hazards, and operational updates with crew members        
· Participate in hands-on activities as needed, including framing, drywall and taping installation  

Note: The proportion of hands-on duties varies based on the size of the project

Licenses / Certifications (existing oreligible for):
· Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license
· Must provide a clean driver’s abstract
